Family owned and operated since its beginning in 1952, Sipapu is proud to be a small, family oriented ski and summer resort in an intimate setting offering modest prices. Nestled in the Sangre de Christo Mountains along the Rio Pueblo, Sipapu is surrounded by the Pecos Wilderness and the Carson National Forest. With facilities for groups of 2 to 260 we are able to graciously host your corporate gathering, retreat, family reunion or wedding. 22 scenic miles southeast of Taos, New Mexico, Sipapu offers short lift lines and varied terrain for downhill skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing. Sipapu offers private and group snowboarding and skiing lessons for both adults and children. In the summer, our ski mountain is transformed into Sipapu Disc Golf Course which has been written up as "one of the top 5 scenic courses in the country, if not the world." During the summer and fall, there is an abundance of activities at or near the resort including fly-fishing, horseback riding, hiking, biking, rafting, and rock climbing along with motorcycle rallies and Arts & Crafts fairs. A myriad of informational and instructive workshops, ranging from the art of painting to the art of fly-fishing, are held at the lodge throughout the summer. In late Fall the shadows of the sun start to lengthen and the aspen leaves start turning gold. It's time to enjoy the warm afternoons of another Sipapu Indian Summer, when the pace slows and the forest is at its peak of serenity.
